A pendant designed by Dennis deJonghe, owner of deJonghe Original Jewelry at 470 Broadway, has been named a consumer’s choice for evening wear in a competition sponsored by the American Gem Trade Association together with the Jewelry Consumer Opinion Council.
deJonghe’s design is a platinum pendant set with a 17.06-carat natural Aquamarine, an Iolite and diamonds. It hangs from a strand of freshwater pearls.
According to a report from the opinion council, deJonghe’s piece was one of 120 entries in the evening wear category and evaluated by at least 287 consumers, who liked the pendant the best.
deJonghe will collect his award at a ceremony in Tucson in February.
